22 Sons, Brothers, Nephews on the Rise




Mick Schumacher leads a whole series of racers who follow their fathers and relatives into F1. These are the 22 candidates.


Max Verstappen and Kevin Magnussen currently two drivers in the Formula 1 field are represented, whose fathers have already driven GP races. They belong to 16 sons of former F1 drivers who have even made it to the premier class of motorsport. In addition, there are eleven brothers, five nephews, a son-in-law, a grandnephew, a cousin and four brothers-in-law.

It will not stay that way. In the junior series romp 22 relatives of former Formula 1 drivers. Above all, of course, Mick Schumacher, the son of record world champion Michael Schumacher. But also the offspring of the former Schumi Ferrari companions Rubens Barrichello and Luca Badoer announce Formula 1 ambitions. Eduardo Barrichello rides in the USF2000, an IndyCar junior series, Brando Badoer in the Karting World Championship.

Twelve sons, one daughter, two grandchildren, two nephews, two brothers, a cousin and a grandnephew of former Formula One drivers are currently playing in the junior championships.
